Denis Santelli is a French artist living in Paris. For the last 20 years, Denis Santelli’s been experimenting with various innovative technologies related to digital art including generative art, but Denis Santelli is a classically trained artist, his primary medium was oil paint on canvas. Today, he manipulates digital material with the approach of a painter. He has participated in several exhibitions and has been invited to various seminars and talks about Art & New Media in the USA and in Europe and Asia. He showed his work at RunMe, and Rhizome and was recently exhibited at Context Art Miami, San Francisco and Paris. He also received various commissions for Murals in Berlin and Beijing China Nature and landscape are a major subject for Santelli that he links to our era of technological revolution and environmental transformation. The work of Denis Santelli show us a digital chaotic world that nobody really understands, a relentless dataflow flow where it is becoming harder and harder remaining human. If his work refers to Artificial Intelligence and machine learning tools, he re-humanizes the process by de-automating digital creation. He thus offers a poetic look at artificiality by combining the aesthetic matrix of virtual worlds with his original relationship to painting. Digital pattern, degraded artefacts that are specific to the digital medium and wireframe 3D rendering are vital elements of his work. The final artwork result from Interplay between the Human and Technology, a relationship between the natural feeling of a real painter combined with the artificial precision of a digital technology.
